Our Tea Room
Our family run tea room began in 2006, initially only on one floor. The shop was then primarily used to sell our unique collection of antique textile cushions, samplers and needleworks as well as our Christmas decorations (as featured on Downton Abbey!). However word spread quickly about the tea room and it soon took over most of the shop!
You can still peruse and buy the hangings, cushions and trinkets that decorate our tea room, which we think gives it a character and charm that you won't find anywhere else.
The shop, when built in the 1790s, would have been part of the tree-lined walk from St Mary's Church (recently made a minster) to a mineral spring, which is now part of the Ladies College. This is why the small cobbled road is known as Well Walk.
From coffee and a Cheltenham Dripper in the morning (breakfast of champions!), a bowl of freshly made soup and a sandwich at lunch to a warm scone with jam and clotted cream at tea time, we have a tasty treat for any time of day!
We can cater for a range of dietary requirements and very often have a variety of gluten free cakes on offer (chocolate, cherry and almond and orange and almond to name a few!). Do let us know of any dietary needs in advance however as we want you to have the best time in our tea room.
All of our cakes, quiches, soups and scones are cooked by Isabelle, our master baker. She sources the best, local ingredients. We use St Georges Bakery for our delicious bread and soup rolls, Williams Bakery of Cheltenham for the Drippers and we use (and sell - £4) Old Tom's Gloucestershire honey too.
